Rajasthan State AIDS Control Society (RSACS) is an autonomous society formed by Government of Rajasthan with its members drawn from various departments. This web portal will give you a comprehensive one-stop dashboard for services of RSACS and HIV/AIDS related activities in Rajasthan State, India .
Realizing the need for a broader and more effective response and to facilitate smooth implementation of HIV and AIDS Prevention activities .State Government has setup the
state AIDS cell in the Medical Health Directorate in the year 1992 .
The society was constituted under the chairmanship of secretary health in December 1998 to implement National AIDS Control Programme more swiftly .
Rajasthan State AIDS control society was formed under Rajasthan society act 1958 on 19.12.1998 National AIDS Control programme is being implemented by AIDS cell formed under the Directorate of Medical and Health Services, Govt. of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
The AIDS cell receives all the AIDS funds from the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India in form of grant aid.
Anti Retroviral Therapy (ART):-
The free ART initiative was launched on 1st April 2004. In order to provide care, support and treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS, Anti Retroviral Therapy centers, Link ART centers and Community Care Centers are working in the State.
There are 25835 PLHA registered at ART centers of Rajasthan. The total 6 ART centers are functioning in the state which provides ARV doing to 9087 PLHAs (As per report of Jan 11).
Services available at these ART centers (free of cost) are as :
- CD-4 Test
- 4 ARV Drugs
- O.I Drugs
- Knowledge of Social beneficial Scheme
- IEC Material
- Knowledge about network people
- Referral to CCC & other related units
Services Integrated Counseling and Testing (ICTC) :-
Integrated Counseling & Testing Center is a place which provides a window for rendering information about HIV prevention, counsels them to undergo testing, and provides testing facilities and also links positive people with treatment, care and support system. Therefore, availability and accessibility of ICTC services plays an important role in identification of HIV positive cases and ensuring the quality of life to HIV positive people by linking them with care, support and treatment.
Human blood is an essential element of human life and there are no substitutes. Blood transfusion services occupy a vital space in any National Health Service delivery system. Blood is also a scare resource. The availability of safe and adequate blood saves lives. If not properly screened, however, blood becomes a conduit for transmitting viral, bacterial and protozoan in sections e.g. hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, Syphilis & Malaria.
Targeted intervention as a strategy for prevention has proved to be an effective means to contain the prevalence of HIV in the state of Rajasthan. Currently there are 59 TIs working with core groups. As many as 5 TIs are working with MSM & 7 with IDUs, 22 are working with FSW population and 11 are core composite interventions. Similarly, 11 TIs are working with migrant population and 3 TIs are working with truckers. Thus total number of 59 TIs are working in Rajasthan State AIDS Control Society under theTarget Intervention.
